HOW BAZAAR: THINK PINK

Posted by Emily LaRosa on

"Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure," said the color authority Pantone when it named the shade of pink the 2016 "Color of the Year" (along with its pastel blue counterpart called Serenity). Besides being in the news, pink is chic with a capital C.

The feminine hue took charge of the spring 2016 runways in the hyper-ladylike forms like slip dresses at Chloé, ruffled blouses at Gucci, and sheer sensations at Chanel, just to name a few. And this wasn't pink's first time at the fashion party.

Rewind to this image of supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, shot by Patrick Demarchelier, for a 1998 issue of Harper's BAZAAR. Looking girly yet glamorous, playful yet powerful, the moment captures the chameleon-like nature of the color—just like the women, themselves.
